Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 5, 2026 | Last Updated: May 5, 2026
Go Assist US ("Go Assist," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights available to you under United States federal and state privacy laws — including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA), the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA), and the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). It applies to goassist.us and the booking, communication, and customer-care services we provide through that website and our partner technician network.
1. Information We Collect
We collect three categories of information. Information you give us directly: when you book a repair, request a quote, contact us, or sign up for an account, you may provide your full name, service address, billing address, email address, phone number, appliance make and model, fault description, photos of the unit, and (where applicable) payment-card information processed by our PCI-compliant payment processor. Information collected automatically: when you use our website we collect device identifiers, browser type, IP address, referring page, pages visited, time on page, geolocation derived from IP, and similar diagnostic data via cookies, server logs, and tracking pixels. Information from third parties: we may receive information from our service partners, payment processors, marketing platforms, and public databases (for example, address verification, fraud-prevention checks, and warranty validations).
2. How We Use Your Information
We process personal information to: (a) schedule and dispatch a vetted technician; (b) communicate with you about your booking, including SMS and email updates; (c) take payment, issue invoices, and manage refunds or chargebacks; (d) honor warranty obligations and resolve customer-care issues; (e) detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or unauthorized activity; (f) comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations; (g) improve our website, services, and technician network through aggregate analytics; and (h) where permitted, send you relevant marketing communications about Go Assist services. We do not use sensitive personal information (such as precise geolocation or government identifiers) for purposes other than those reasonably expected by you when you engage our services.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share personal information only as needed to deliver the services you request and run our business. Categories of recipients include: independent technicians and contractors in our service network (so they can complete the repair); payment processors and banks (to take payment and process refunds); SMS, email, and call-center providers (so we can reach you about your booking); analytics, hosting, and security vendors (to operate the website); professional advisers (legal, accounting, insurance) under confidentiality obligations; and government authorities where required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Go Assist, our customers, or the public. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. In the prior twelve months we have not knowingly sold or shared personal information of consumers under sixteen years of age, and we do not engage in "targeted advertising" or "profiling" with significant legal effects as defined under the VCDPA, CPA, CTDPA, or UCPA.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as needed to provide the services you have requested and to comply with our legal obligations. Booking and invoice records are typically retained for seven years to satisfy federal and state tax and warranty requirements. Customer-care correspondence is retained for three years. Marketing-preference records are retained for the life of your account plus three years. Web-analytics data is retained in aggregated, de-identified form for up to two years. When the retention period ends we securely delete or de-identify the information.
5. Cookies and Tracking
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies (pixels, local storage, server-side tags) to keep the site working, remember your preferences, measure usage, and — with your consent where required — show you relevant advertising. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, opt out of analytics tracking, and use Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals; we honor GPC as a valid opt-out request under California, Colorado, and Connecticut law. Our website also recognizes the "Do Not Track" browser setting. For full details, see our Cookie Notice, available from the footer.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on the state in which you reside, you may have the right to: know what personal information we collect, the categories of sources, the purposes of processing, and the categories of recipients; access a copy of your personal information; correct inaccurate information; delete personal information we hold about you; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (Go Assist does not sell or share personal information for advertising purposes, but you may still submit an opt-out request); opt out of profiling with legal or similarly significant effects; limit the use of sensitive personal information; data portability, where technically feasible; and appeal a denial of any of these rights. To exercise a right, email us at privacy@goassist.us, call us, or use the form on our contact page. We will verify your identity before responding and aim to reply within forty-five days, with a one-time forty-five-day extension where reasonably necessary. You may use an authorized agent — we will require written authorization and identity verification.
7. "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information"
Go Assist does not sell or share personal information in exchange for monetary or other valuable consideration, and does not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising. To formally submit a Do Not Sell or Share request anyway, email privacy@goassist.us with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information," or use the link in the footer of every page on our website.
8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Our website and services are intended for adults aged eighteen and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen. If you believe we have collected information from a child under thirteen, please contact privacy@goassist.us and we will promptly delete it. We do not knowingly process the personal information of consumers we know to be under sixteen for the purpose of selling or sharing.
9. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information, including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest where appropriate, access controls, security monitoring, vendor due diligence, and an incident-response program. No system is perfectly secure; if we discover a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, or applicable law. The Effective Date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. We will notify you of material changes by posting a prominent notice on our website or by email where appropriate.
11. Contact Us

California residents may also contact the California Attorney General; Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah residents may contact their state Attorney General with privacy complaints after first giving us an opportunity to resolve the issue.
